Field

Description

Copy

Click to open the Copy Object to Process Area page where the Process Area to which the Object is to be copied is specified.

Move

Click to open the Move Object to Process Area page where the Process Area to which the Object is to be moved is specified.

COMMENT

Displays user-entered comments about the Object.

OBJECT ID

Displays a concatenated value that is comprised of the Object name and the description (<object name> + ‘-‘ + <description>). The Object name is the name of the migration Object.

PRIORITY

Displays the data source for the Object, which is based on the name of the Data Source.

OWNER

Displays the user assigned to the overall ownership of the object from a reporting perspective. This list box is limited to users who have access to any Console WebApp Group via a role to which they are assigned.

ACTIVE

If checked, the object is active and therefore in scope with the migration project. All target tables for the object are activated.

If unchecked, the object is inactive and therefore not within scope of the migration project. All target tables for the object are deactivated.

By default, this check box is checked.

Date Inconsistency

If populated with the shield icon, object’s Design, Map or Build Completion Due Date is greater than the default date assigned to the wave / planning group assigned to the object.

Targets

Click to open the Targets and Target Fields pages in Target Design.

Process Area: Object V

Process Area: Object H

This page has the following tabs:

General tab

Field

Description

Set Design Finished

Click to set all the target tables associated with the object to a “Design Finished” status. This setting indicates that the design is complete. If Set Design Finish is not activated, then each target table must individually be updated to “Design Finish."

Basic Data

Object ID

Displays the name of the migration Object.

Data Source ID

Displays the data source for the Object, which is a Transform database. This database is where all Target tables and all Source tables will be registered.

NOTE: A data source can be added from this page. Click the + sign to open the Data Source Registry page.

NOTE: DATA SOURCE ID is a hard-required field needed for the execution of the Business Data Transformation via Transform..

NOTE: The options that display in this list box are filtered by the Transform Database Filter (set on the Parameters page on the General tab). The default value is dsw% used by Transform databases.

Report Cache Data Source ID

Displays the name of the database that contains the tables storing the results of report views.

NOTE: REPORT CACHE DATA SOURCE ID is required for the execution of the Business Data Transformation and Report Delivery via Transform.

Comment

Displays user-entered comments about the Object.

Activate / Deactivate

Click to activate or deactivate the data object. Activating a data object sets the status of all associated target tables to “In Design.” Deactivating a data object sets the status of all associated target tables to “Inactive” and removes the objects from metrics

ERP System Values

ERP Instance

Displays the ERP system instance that stores the Object. This is a free-form text field to store data and is not validated.

ERP Client

Displays the ERP system client name that stores the Object. This is a free-form text field to store data and is not validated.

NOTE: The ERP Client must be set for any reports generated by SQL AutoGen referencing check tables that contain the Client column.

ERP Database

Displays the ERP system database that stores the Object. This is a free-form text field to store data and is not validated.

Data Services Configuration

Data Services

Click to enable the Data Services options on DSP® pages for a migration project.

For the Data Services icons on the Targets page in Transform to display, a Data Services repository must be assigned to the object containing the Target in Console.

Refer to Configure Data Services Functionality for more information.

Data Services Repository

Displays the name of the Data Services Repository.

A Data Services Repository is a set of tables that stores user-created and predefined system objects, Source and Target metadata and transformation rules. Repositories are configured in SAP Data Services, and then registered in Common in the DSP®. Refer to Register a Data Source in Common for more information.

For the Data Services icons on the Targets page in Transform to display, a Data Services repository must be assigned to the Object containing the Target in Console.

Planning Group Data tab

Field

Description

Planning Group

Displays the planning group name, which is a logical grouping of data objects based on the order/priority in which they are worked on. Planning groups allow a migration project to be broken down into smaller work packages that can be tightly managed and reported on.

When adding a new object, the wave planning group will either:

  • Default from the Console object element if a value is populated and if that planning group is assigned to a wave or
  • Be populated based on the planning group that has been set as the default for the wave. If no default value is found, then a value can be selected from the list of planning groups assigned to the wave.

Design Start Date

Displays the date by which the target data design of the object is expected to start. This field is used in the Migration Dashboards and to calculate an object’s “Design Status to Plan.”

This date can be auto-populated based on the planning group selected; however, it can be edited to provide the object with a specific Design Start date.

Design Completion Due Date

Displays the date by which the target data design of the object is expected to be completed. This field is used in the Migration Dashboards to calculate an object’s “Design Status to Plan.”

This date can be auto-populated based on the planning group selected; however, it can be edited to provide the object with a specific Design Completion Due Date. An object Design Completion Due Date must be equal to or greater than its Design Start Date.

Map Start Date

Displays the date by which the field mapping of the object is expected to start. This field is used in the Migration Dashboards to calculate an object’s “Map Status to Plan.”

This date can be auto-populated based on the Planning Group selected; however, it can be edited to provide the object with a specific Map Start Date.

Map Completion Due Date

Displays the date by which the field mapping of the object is expected to be complete. This field is used in the Migration Dashboards to calculate an object’s “Map Status to Plan.”

This date can be auto-populated based on the Planning Group selected; however, it can be edited to provide the object with a specific Map Completion Due Date. An object’s Map Completion Due Date must be:

  • Equal to or greater than its Map Start Date and
  • Greater than its Design Completion Due Date.

Build Start Date

Displays the date by which the source/target rule of the object is expected to start. This field is used in the Migration Dashboards to calculate an object’s “Build Status to Plan.”

This date can be auto-populated based on the Planning Group selected; however, it can be edited to provide the object with a specific Build Start Date.

Build Completion Due Date

Displays the date by which the source/target rule build of the object is expected to be complete. This field is used in the Migration Dashboards to calculate an object’s “Build Status to Plan.”

This date can be auto-populated based on the Planning Group selected; however, it can be edited to provide the object with a specific Build Completion Due Date. An object’s Build Completion Due Date must be:

  • Equal to or greater than its Build Start Date and
  • Greater than its Map Completion Due Date.
