Create a Package Group

Watch the video.

A package is an individual item being transported to another environment, such as a target rule or a source target table. A package group is a collection of packages; a high-level way to organize packages, such as data migration or a specific wave. Packages and package groups allow for a granular way to manage data transportation.

Syniti’s best practice and recommendation is to have a single package group to transport all the configuration and core set-up data, the wave-process-area-object hierarchy and each data object.

Create a package group and then create individual packages for the package group.

To create a package group:

  1. Select Packages on the Navigation pane.

  2. Click Add.

View the page description for the Package Groups page

  3. Enter a package name in the NAME field.

  4. Enter a point of contact in the OWNER field.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Create a package.
