Configure SQL Objects to be Ignored

Promote allows specific SQL objects, such as views, procedures and tables, to be ignored during the comparison and/or sync process. It is helpful to ignore SQL objects that should not be overridden when content is transported to the destination system, such as any backup or test views. Additionally, some fields should not be synchronized, such as user names, passwords or other sensitive data.

Objects can also be ignored at the package level. Refer to Manually Ignore Objects for more information.

To configure SQL objects to be ignored:

  1. Select Configuration > Auto Ignore Objects in the Navigation pane.

  2. Click Add.

View the page description for the Auto Ignore Objects page

  3. Enter a SQL object name to be ignored from the compare and sync processes in the OBJECT IDENTIFIER field.

NOTE: Wild Card values such as boa% can be used to ignore all SQL objects that begin with the letters "boa."

  1. Click Save.
