Package - Object Comparison

To access this page:

  1. Click Packages in the Navigation pane.
  2. Click the Packages icon for a Package Group.
  3. Click the SQL Objects icon for a Package.
  4. Click one of the links in the columns to view the comparison for that column (NOT IN DEST, DIFFERENT, SAME, QUEUE, ALL). For example, click the link in the NOT IN DEST column to access the page with data that shows where the SQL object is not included in the destination system after the comparison has been run.

  1. Click Approval in the Navigation pane.
  2. Click the View Package icon for a package group approval request.
  3. Click the SQL Objects icon for a Package.
  4. Click one of the links in the columns to view the comparison for that column (NOT IN DEST, DIFFERENT, SAME, QUEUE, ALL). For example, click the link in the NOT IN DEST column to access the page with data that shows where the SQL object is not included in the destination system after the comparison has been run.

Field

Description

Send Toggle

Click to toggle between adding the selected SQL Object to the queue and removing it from the queue. Hold down the Ctrl key to select multiple records before clicking this button. When the Queue column is checked, the SQL object is available to be transported.

Ignore All Objects

Click to uncheck the Queue check box for all objects on the page. When the Queue check box is unchecked, the SQL object is not available to be transported.

Send All Objects

Click to check the Queue check box for all objects on the page. When the Queue check box is checked, the SQL object is available to be transported.

DATABASE

Displays the database that stores the object specified in the SQL object name field.

OBJECT NAME

Displays the name of the SQL object.

OBJECT TYPE

Displays the type of SQL object. Options are:

  • Table

  • View

  • Procedure

  • Function

  • Trigger

OBJECT CREATED ON

Displays the date when the SQL object was created.

OBJECT LAST MODIFIED ON

Displays the date when the SQL object was last modified.

COMPARE STATUS

Displays the comparison results. Options are:

  • Different

  • Not in Destination

  • Same

QUEUE

If checked, the SQL Object is available to be transported either individually using the Transport icon or collectively using the Transport icon on the Packages page.

KEEP DEST DATA

If checked, the data on the destination server is preserved when transporting table changes.

If unchecked, the data on the destination server is not preserved when transporting table changes.

NOTE: This check box is only applicable for table objects.

Compare SQL

Click to view the Package - Object Comparison SQL page to view the SQL differences between the host and the destination servers for the object.

Always Ignore

Click to add the object to the Package - Manual Ignore Object page; it will always be ignored during a comparison.

Transport

Click to transport the individual object.

ERROR

Displays an image if any errors were encountered while transporting the SQL objects. To view the actual error, click the Log icon on the Packages page; the Package - Messages page displays to show the error message.
