View Logs

Viewing the logs are useful to determine if any action needs to be taken, specifically

  • after the transport process has run to see if any data records failed to insert or if SQL objects failed to be created

  • after the code comparison process to view warning messages.

There are two levels of log messages:

  • Everything is normal and successful.

  • There is something that needs to be verified, for example, an inner/outer naming issue or a warning that a registration exists on the destination server that will be deleted when it is promoted.

To view the logs:

  1. Select Packages on the Navigation pane.

  2. Click the Packages icon for the package group.

  3. Click the Log icon for the package; all messages related to the process display.

  4. Click the Message Detail icon to view details of error messages returned during the compare and transport processes.
