Wave - Planning Group

Use this page to Add Elements to a Wave.

To access this page:

  1. Select Advanced Data Migration in the Navigation pane, or select Console in the Context bar.
  2. Select Waves in the Navigation pane.
  3. Click the Planning Groups icon for the wave.

Field

Description

PLANNING GROUP

Displays the planning group assigned to the wave. This is a logical grouping of data objects based on the order/priority in which they are worked on. Planning groups allow a migration project to be broken down into smaller work packages that can be tightly managed and reported on.

WAVE DEFAULT PLANNING GROUP

If checked, all new objects assigned to the wave inherit this planning group. 

If unchecked, new objects assigned to the wave do not inherit any planning group information. 

By default, this check box is unchecked. 

DESIGN START DATE

Displays the default date by which the target data design of objects assigned to the planning group are expected to start. 

The date selected for the wave planning group default is copied to the wave process area objects that are assigned to the planning group.

DESIGN COMPLETION DUE DATE

Displays the default date by which the target data design of objects assigned to the planning group are expected to be complete. The wave planning group default is copied to the wave process area objects that are assigned to the planning group. 

A wave planning group’s DESIGN COMPLETION DUE DATE must be equal to or greater than its DESIGN START DATE. 

MAP START DATE

Displays the default date by which the field mapping of objects assigned to the planning group are expected to start. 

The date selected for the wave planning group default is copied to the wave process area objects that are assigned to the planning group. 

MAP COMPLETION DUE DATE

Displays the default date by which the field mapping of objects assigned to the planning group are expected to be complete. The wave planning group default is copied to wave process area objects that are assigned to the planning group. A wave planning group’s MAP COMPLETION DUE DATE must be equal to or greater than its MAP START DATEgreater than its DESIGN COMPLETION DUE DATE.

BUILD START DATE

Displays the default date by which the target data design of objects assigned to the planning group are expected to start. 

The date selected for the wave planning group default is copied to the wave process area objects that are assigned to the planning group. 

BUILD COMPLETION DUE DATE

Displays the default date by which the build of objects assigned to the planning group are expected to be complete. The wave planning group default is copied to the wave process area objects that are assigned to the planning group. A wave planning group’s BUILD COMPLETION DUE DATE must beequal to or greater than its BUILD START DATEgreater than its MAP COMPLETION DUE DATE.
