Security Role Compare

Use this page to Compare Security Roles.

NOTE: The fields that display on this page depend on where the user is in the Compare Security Role process.

To access this page:

  1. Click Security > Security Management > Security Roles in the Navigation pane.
  2. Click the Compare Roles icon for a NAME.

Field

Description

Role Name Displays the name of the security role selected on the Security Roles page for comparison.
Compare Role Click to select the role being compared to the Role Name.
Compare Groups Click to view a comparison of WebApp group access for each selected role.
Compare Pages Click to view a comparison of page access for each selected role.

Compare Groups View

To access this page:

  1. Select Security > Security Management > Security Roles in the Navigation pane.
  2. Click the Compare Roles icon for a NAME.
  3. Click the Compare Groups icon.

Field

Description

WEB APP ID

Displays the name of the Web App that contains the WebApp group.

GROUP ID

Displays the name of the WebApp group.

ACCESS MATCHES

Displays a check if the WebApp group access for the security roles is identical.

ROLE A

Displays the name of the role selected on the Security Roles page for comparison.

GROUP ACCESS A

If checked, the role specified in field Role A has access to the Web App Group indicated by the Group ID.

ROLE B

Displays the name of the role selected on the Security Role Compare page for comparison against Role A.

GROUP ACCESS B

If checked, the role specified in field Role B has access to the Web App Group indicated by the Group ID.

Compare Pages View

To access this page:

  1. Select Security > Security Management > Security Roles in the Navigation pane.
  2. Click the Compare Roles icon for a NAME.
  3. Click the Compare Pages icon.

Field

Description

PAGE DESCRIPTION

Displays a description of the page that the security role may have access to.

PAGE TYPE

Displays one of the following page types:

  • Chart—Tabular or graphical representation of data.
  • Dashboard—Collection of charts on a single page.
  • Dynamic—Interactive grid-based representation of data.
  • HeaderDetail—Parent-Child representation of relationship data.
  • Report—Read only representation of grid data.
  • Service—Non-interactive page used to perform events on a specified time interval.
  • Static—Custom resource to load as page content

WEB APP ID

Displays the name of the Web App that the role may have access to.

ACCESS MATCHES

If checked, the roles being compared have identical security access.

ROLE A

Displays the name of the original role chosen for comparison.

ALLOW SELECT A

If checked, Role A allows view access on the page in the page description.

ALLOW INSERT A

If checked, Role A allows adding of records on the page in the page description.

ALLOW UPDATE A

If checked, Role A allows editing of records on the page in the page description.

ALLOW DELETE A

If checked, Role A allows deletion of records on the page in the page description.

ROLE B

Displays the name of the role selected on the Security Role Compare page for comparison against Role A.

ALLOW SELECT B

If checked, Role B allows view access on the page in the page description.

ALLOW INSERT B

If checked, Role B allows adding of records on the page in the page description.

ALLOW UPDATE B

If checked, Role B allows editing of records on the page in the page description.

ALLOW DELETE B

If checked, Role B allows deletion of records on the page in the page description.
