Promote

Package - Databases

To access this page:

  1. Click Packages in the Navigation pane.
  2. Click the Packages icon for a Package Group.
  3. Click the Databases icon for a Package.

    OR

  1. Click Approval in the Navigation pane.
  2. Click the View Packages icon for a package group approval request.
  3. Click the Databases icon for a Package.

Field

Description

DATABASE

Displays the database that stores the data and SQL objects being compared and/or transported.

PROTECTED

If checked, the database and SQL objects are not transported.

If unchecked, the databases and SQL objects are available to be transported.

NOTE: System supplied databases are protected and cannot be unprotected. Protected databases are always excluded from the data transport, which prevents SQL objects from being overwritten.

DATA STRUCTURES

If checked, the corresponding database includes Structure Data records that are available to be transported.

If unchecked, the corresponding database does not include Structure Data records that are available to be transported.

NOTE: If the database is protected, then records cannot be transported.

OBJECT STRUCTURES

If checked, the corresponding database includes SQL objects that are available to be transported.

If unchecked, the corresponding database does not include SQL Objects that are available to be transported.

NOTE: If the database is protected, then records cannot be transported.

EXIST IN DESTINATION

If checked, the database exists on the destination server.

If unchecked, the database does not exist on the destination server and needs to be created before SQL objects can be transported. Click the Create icon to create the database on the destination server. Refer to Create Databases That Do Not Exist in the Destination for more information.

NOTE: Using Promote to create databases that do not exist on the destination server may not be permitted by all projects. This task may need to be performed by a database administrator.

Create

Click to create the database on the destination (target) server. This process must be performed before SQL objects can be transported.

NOTE: Using Promote to create databases that do not exist on the target server may not be permitted by all projects. This task may need to be performed by a database administrator.
