Import a Project File
Refer to Required Columns for Import Import the Project File into dspTrack™ and Task Status on Import for more information.
NOTE: When an MS Project file is imported into dspTrack™, a calendar is added with the Project name at the start of the calendar name.
To import a project file:
- Select Project in Navigation pane.
- Click Plans for a project.

Click Vertical View for a plan.
NOTE: If a plan does not yet exist for the project, add one. Refer to Organize Plans with Projects for more information.
- Click the Plan tab.

Click Edit.
View the field descriptions for the Plan page’s Vertical View.

Select an option in the PlanFile Type list box.
NOTE: This field is required to import a project.
- Click General tab.

Select a calendar to use with the file’s data in the Default Calendar list box.
NOTE: The calendar is used in schedule status calculations. Refer to Add a Calendar for more information.
- Click Save.
- Click Plan tab.
- Click Upload a File next to Upload.
- Navigate to the file to import and select it.
- Click Open.
- Click Import; a confirmation message displays.
- Click OK.
The tasks are added to the plan.
NOTE: If a user imports the project file again into the same plan, updates in the file are applied to the tasks in dspTrack™. Any new tasks are added to the plan.
NOTE: If users are imported with a project file that do not have accounts in the Stewardship Tier, register these unregistered users.
