Setup and Configuration for Data Services

Prerequisites

  • A SQL Server is set up to store all databases created for the DS Repositories.
  • Data Services is installed, a default database created and a default Repository configured and registered.
  • A Job Server is configured to run on the Data Services Server.

NOTE: The screen shots in this section are provided as an example only. Specific values such as usernames are created on site.

Before using Data Services:

  1. Create the Contexts for Migration Projects

  2. Register the Data Services Repository as a Data Source in Common

  3. Add a Target in Target Design

  4. Add Rules in Target Design

  5. Sync Map and Target Design

Then follow these steps:

  1. Create a database for the Repository.

  2. Create a Repository in Data Services.

  3. Configure the Repository in the Central Management Console (CMC).

  4. Configure Security for the Repository.

  5. Verify the Repository in Data Services Designer.

  6. Assign the Repository to Job Server.

  7. Register the Data Services Repository as a Data Source in Common.
