Copy a Role
A Designer has the ability to copy a role for the purpose of creating and editing a new role.
When a role is copied, the currently assigned tasks, dependencies and role conflicts are assigned to the new role.
A role can be copied whether it is active or not.
Once the new role is created, it can be modified.
To copy a role:
- Select Master Data Management> Design in the Navigation pane.
- Click the Roles icon for a category.
- Click Vertical View for a role.
- Click the Copy Options tab.

Click Edit.
View the field descriptions for the Copy Options tab on the Role page's Vertical View
- Enter a name in the New Role Name field.
- Click Save.
- Click the Copy icon; a confirmation message displays.
- Click OK.
The new role displays on the Role page.
