Assign Default Data Source and Views

The Template Administrator can set a default data source and view at the template level for request role data to streamline the request entry process. When a user enters a request based on the template, these default values are saved in the request role data.

NOTE: To assign the data source and views for a template, the template must not be active or must be in Developer Mode. Refer to Modify an Active Template in Developer Mode for more information.

To set a default data source and view for a template:

  1. Click Team on Navigation pane.
  2. Click Templates for a team.
  3. Click Roles for a template.
  4. Click Vertical View for a Data ROLE ID .
  5. Click the Import Settings tab.

  6. Click Edit.

  7. Select a data source ID from the View Import Data Source ID Default list box.

    NOTE:The View Import Data Source ID Default displays the data source used as the default value when using a view to import data for requests that use this template.

  8. Select a view from the View Import View Name Default list box.

    NOTE:The View Import View Name Default displays the view used as the default value to import data for requests that use this template.

  9. Click Save.
