Modify the Format of Reports Available from the Report Data Viewer

The Project Distribution Rule Bindings page lists the table to which the rules selected on the Project Distribution Rules page are bound. Users deactivate the columns on these tables to filter data that displays on reports for the project distribution.

A service page runs every 6 hours (by default) to compare the column settings in IS and ISA for the IsFailedData table.

If the tables are not in sync, the Column Change Mode setting dictates changes to the ISA data.

Column Change Mode Inherit

Settings are:

  • If column order changes in IS, the active columns in ISA are rebuilt per the IS view.

  • If a column is added in IS, the active columns in ISA are rebuilt per the IS view.

  • If a column is deleted in IS, it is deleted in ISA.

  • Users cannot update any values on the Activate Columns page.

Column Change Mode Do Not Inherit

Settings are:

  • If column order changes in IS, the active columns in ISA are not rebuilt per the IS view. Changes in ISA are retained.

  • If a column is added in IS, it will be added to ISA, but deactivated and given a priority of 99** on the Inconsistent Rule Binding page until the column is reviewed. Validating the column, changing the priority or activating the column will remove it from the Inconsistent Rule Bindings page.

  • If a column is deleted in IS, it is deleted in ISA.

All columns are active by default.

NOTE: At least one column must be active or a report will not be generated.

To activate columns with a Column Change Mode of Inherit Ins / Del only:

  1. Click Information Steward Accelerator > Project Summary in the Navigation pane.
  2. Click Distributions for a project.
  3. Click Rules for a distribution.

  4. Click Bindings for a rule.

    NOTE: If the ACTIVE check box is enabled, the failed results of this rule binding will be captured and workflowed to the users who have been added to the Distribution.

  5. Click the Toggle Inherit icon on the Page toolbar to set the Column Change Mode to Inherit Ins / Del only.

    NOTE: This sets how the columns in ISA displayed on the Activate Columns page are treated when the IS view is updated.

  6. Click Field Activation.

  7. Click Edit.

    View the field descriptions for the Activate Columns page.

  8. Enter a value  in the PRIORITY field to change the order that fields are included in the Excel file generated as a report and attached to workflow emails.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Click the ACTIVE check box to so that values in the column  display for the rule binding.

To activate or deactivate multiple fields at the same time:

  1. Select a range of records.
  2. Click Activate Columns or Deactivate Columns.
